Year of the cute rabbits , its been a busy time these few months and with some time to spare before i "book in" why not share the great pics I took. With every chinese restaurants almost fully booked, my family and I were lucky to get a seat at one of the not really known place within youngsters but amazingly great place and great food .

"Bosses" , A cantonese chinese restaurants with chefs based from Hong Kong , located at Vivo City (Besides Sushi Tei) . True to its name , its ambience and service is top notch. More importantly , the food is unique and delicious.In terms of comparision , if i have a choice for crystal jade and bosses, bosses will win almost in everything i rate.

Hong Kong Kim's Gary Restaurant

I mentioned it before but didn't had any pictures taken previously, so here's it! Located at vivocity , its one of the restaurants that has a mix of not only chinese but also western food , a good choice for people who cant make up their mind on what food to eat. It has a lot of varieties but its not the best ive tried compared to hong kong or even the quite newly opened taiwan xing wang cafe.

Sushi Tei

Well no introduction needed as it as quite an well know sushi place among families and friends for good and reasonable japanese food in Singapore. Orginated in here , it has expand to many other countries , such as sydney and even bali.

There are a few branches in Singapore , but the one i went to are vivo city and raffles city.
If you are looking for ambience , head down to raffles city , as they have special dining seats that makes that place look private and also a unique feel. However the air conditioning is way too strong over there and food gets cold very easily , especially where i was sitting , it actually make me feel sick while i'm eating .

Vivo City is much better cause it is more spacious than the existing raffles city branch and has a nice view of the currently being built casino and theme park in Sentosa. Air Con is not too cold , meaning hot piping food can last longer on table and based on the dragon roll i tried at both branches , vivo seems to taste more fresh.

Leon and Phoebe were that day's food jockey. He just came back from taiwan and netherless to say the food in taiwan is a must to try everything. Can't wait to head there next year.

Onions are nice , forgot the name , but deserves an 4/5 for taste

Curry Rice with Katsu cutlet- 4/5 ( would still prefer the one at ion orchard where they really specialise in japanese curry rice)

It was literally a food banza this whole weekend. Ion Orchard is a place that is ablazed with so many things to shop , all you need is the capital. Leon, phoebe, grace and clement for lunch had to wait for me like 15mins (sry bout that la ) and we like spent 1 hour at least to find a suitable place to eat. Too many new food choices and too little time. Its quite ironic that though they are always the one going with me to try new food places, strange thing happens , just like the fatty salmon that dropped into the bowl of soy sauce !

There are just too many new restaurants that i went this weekend to try so ill just do a quick cap on the food . Itacho sushi at Ion is the only and newest branch opened in Singapore, many reviews says it is the best value for sushi . Its definately much better in terms of food standards than sakae sushi but be prepared to spend over 30 per person if you wana be guaranteed a full stomach. Be sure to try the fairy prawns sushi the next time you visit and the soft shell crab salad that has an overwhelming taste but yet does not spoil the taste for other sushis. Not really to my liking but ill give it 7.5/10 for overall taste.

There was this bread stall right beside it that seems to have alot of new bread varities, tarts , cakes , anything to do with bread and flour , everything looks so colorful.

At ion orchard , be sure to visit Basement 4 , lots of food that you can try and hell did we do it. The sushi wasnt filling for all of us , so we had this japanese curry cutlet at this newly opened fast food restaurant in Singapore which was shiok! Then we had tako yaki at one of the small stalls and the queue was amazingly long, one thing about this tako yaki , they dont really give you a choice to choose what fillings you want because they have add every filling there is to it. Rich flavors and so one of the best i've tried but the green tea that came with the set was a failure.

9/10 (just for the tako yakis)

Now for desserts, tried looking for a reasonable price ice cream stall but we couldnt find it , in the end went to yami yogurt stall which we ordered a banana boat , lots of toppings , nuts and fruits , with flavored yougurts that u can choose up to 3 and 2 slices of bananas.

There is the hokkaido section which has 2 stalls offering desserts , one with riceball topped with flavours like red bean paste or mango , the other hokkaido ice cream for a scoop at 5 dollars.

If you haven watch "Hangover" , please do , its definately gonna crank you upside down , but its more of a guys movie thing , wouldnt be that sure that the girls would find it that funny.

Finally on Sunday , Hong Kong Kim Gary's Restaurant at Vivo. Seems just like another Hong Kong Xing Wang Cafe, though they have a much wider variety of food for people with different taste.

Last Sunday

woot! went out with randy, andy, victor , kia leng and pei yu for dinner , actually more of a celebration for pei yu's 19th bday though i insist its her 24th . Theres this restaurant located at the 4th floor of cathay , i forgot the name, but its quite obvious as its the only food place. Food there is not to my liking , but its very packed on an weekends. There was a long queue by the time i reach there. Watched ice age 3 after that , super funny movie , then went to drink dao hui zui with them. Didnt do anything really fancyful other than 'gossips' but netherless had fun.

A few gatherings last week and it made me think alot of "stuffs"(not hot stuffs) , i guess it feels better having a fixed mindset on doing certain stuff rather than getting confused over what ive heard and what ive not heard. Anyway , finally tried the fisherman's warf located opposite central during lunch break. Went with hui ting for it , since siew hui and syriah had to attend an exhibition last minute. The fish there wasn't as good as the other places i've tried, but its the least oily of all i've taste.Still has the fishy taste , but maybe to some , thats considered fresh. Strangely their chips are still fries , just that they fried it with the skin on. I wouldnt recommend that place for the best fish and chips (still looking) but still if you have a craving for fish and chips , it wouldn't fail your tastebuds.

Saturday came & Sentosa was packed with people even with H1n1 still running amok. Had an gathering with the suzhou peeps , but other than quite an boring day cause the place was too packed, thankfully there was dinner at carls jr , Woot! Shroom burgers with fries and handscooped chocolate milk shake. That wasnt enought to stop some of us, and soon how recommended going to cold rock. A place that serve australlia ice cream. They sure have some funny favors , like bubblegum lar! But still a thumbs up for the place. Located at Holland Village , its opened even as we stayed till 11.30.

Today's Menu, Taiwan Xin Wang Cafe , Taste of Taiwan

Met Erwin, Ye Ling, Branden , Nik , Jie Wei and Kenneth for dinner. We went to this newly opened restaurant ,"Taiwan Xin Wang Cafe" located at citylink .Opened by the same co that created" Hong Kong Xin Wang Cafe" famous for their mango ice dessert topped with mango flavored ice cream, syrup and cubes of mangos. Taiwan Xin Wang Cafe does seem to have lesser items on its menus than most restaurants. Must try food would be drinks like the bubble milk tea. The bubble tea uses pearls that are soft yet chewy and have a faint lasting taste on it. Milk Tea used has just the right blend of milk and tea mixed together. Main course to try would be the fried chicken with rice. There are different favors , honey, curry and so on. The fried chicken tastes like those you can find from taiwan's street side , the very big sized fried chicken type. best point about these type of taiwan style fried chicken over at the cafe compared to others is that the flour used is less airy than other places selling it. In other words, the chicken gets an even crisper taste but yet slightly chewy. There was also the Toast box with creamy filling. Hong Kong Cafe has a different variation which has ice cream instead of creamy filling.

After that , we walked to singapore flyer's for some desserts and even more food. There this cafe that sells molvenpick ice cream which was going for only 4 dollars 2 scoops. Very Zi de...The rest had some mashed potatoes from Popeye's.

Family gatherings are always the best. why? You get free good ! As usual , my family fav hot spot is Sushi Tei , located at vivo city. Of all japanese places, i think sushi tei has the most worth value. You pay for what you get. Best of all if you are a member, you ge 10 percent discount + 20 percent on the month of yr bday, plus it lasts for a long time. Heres the best part, if you sign up which costs about 80 dollars , you get 100 dollars of sushi tei spending value in return. Its like paying 80 and they pay you an additional 20 dollars. There was suppose to more pictures of the really nice looking food and also awesome taste , but we were too hungry , that we ate those real scrumptious mouth watering ones without a second tought. There was also the grilled japanese beef served in sweet savory sause added with pieces of sliced garlic and a type of raw fish and semi raw beef mixed together .Anyway one word to summarize all , SHIOK!

SUNDAY'S DESSERTS

As you can see from the cap words, its about desserts and since i'm like having desserts every sunday (for sure) , i might as well make a section on posting desserts for sundays.

Azabu Sabo's Desserts

They aren't known only for their air flown hokkadio ingredients and a range of japanese food, their desserts is also one of the must try stuff. Located at Marina Square , right opposite Topshop/Topman, its decor seems to amaze people that the food is pricey, but the price is still reasonable enough to have enough cash for yourself to spend after treating your bf/gf for dinner.

The only thing i got to complain is that the dessert size sure looks different on table compared to those on the menu.

Fish

Well sorry about my previous post , it should have been about food, but it became a post of anger. To make up for it , ill be posting twice the amount of food pictures!

As promised here are the lost and found makan places in malaysia . To be honest , singapore is nothing in terms of varieties of good and cheap food.

There is this area of malaysia within kota tingi that serves really nice food ,which they are famous for ba ku teh over there. Although the store that was famous for it wasnt open, there were others stores that sell ba ku teh and was still better than those in singapore.The soup was really tasty and its not pepperish like those in singapore.
There was Nasi lemak which was like for only S$1. In singapore , it costs at least $2 for a plate of it .

I've got too much pictures on the fishing trip, so ill post only the big fishes caught and the food we had there. Seriously, if you want to have fresh fish , theres no other place to eat in in the middle of the sea at a kelong. Of course if you are wondering if the fishes are caught at the kelong and then cooked , you are wrong. They are actually bought from fishermens who drop by and they sell the fishes really cheap! 10kg of black promfet fish for only 15 dollars !
(o just to let you all know , fishes near the kelong means near the toilet , in other words they aren't really clean which is probably why even the people living on the kelong prefer to buy fishes from fishermens)

On the way back to singapore, we drop by alot of places, one which is well known for their ku gua tang (bittergourd soup). Its not bitter as the name says , but its not sweet either. Savoury would be the taste of it.

If you want to get cheap shopping groceries, sentosa plaza is the place to go , from what i heard, alot of singaporean love to go there and shop their groceries, good massage and of course food!

But the best of all was the last dish i had , the yao cai ya(medicinal herb duck). It was marinated with the yao cai and was so tasty , that even the medicinal taste is still within the duck after chewing so many times. They were even asked by dian xiao er , a restaurant in singapore to be the advisor to them on how to cook their ducks.

Gotta thank the teo family for bringing me for the fishing trip cause i literaly didn't had to pay for anything. The next time ill definately treat them to scuba diving or some activities at the langkawi beaches.

Today is such a screwed up start of the final year project day.

10 reasons that build up to why it was such a **** up day.

No1) Let say u were suppose to be in school by 8.30 for the start of yr briefing but it started only like 9 plus and lasted half an hour for just knowing your respective groups.

No2) You have to then wait till 1 for the beginning of the start of another briefing. Again the briefing started late like 1.30 and again another half an hour of time is wasted on telling the important thing of who our supervisors are.

No3) After that some were told to wait to 3 for the actual reporting of the day of the fyp while others were told to wait in class with nothing to do till we were so called to be interviewed. After that that lecturer DECIDED not to interview the rest because he had his group to take care at 3 and told us to head down to our actual place where we will spending the next 3 months.

No4) Only by 4 o clock , after being alocated to our respective seats , were we told to look for our supervisors(shouldnt they be looking for us in our class?)

No5) From 4 to 5.30 i was practically reading local news online till i practically ran out of words to read word for word.

No6) At 5.30 came the first task i was given to do, and was only because i was caught playing PSP by one of supposingly "big shot lecturer". Thankfully he did not reprimand me cause if he did i would have given a voice of mine that i was not given a single job and have been wasting my time the whole day.
Instead he ask who my lecturer was and went down to check his own list.

To be honest i shouldnt thank him at all cause i realise later he even told the minor thing about playing the psp for less than 5 mins to my supervisor.

No7) When that guy came back , he told me to do something on about " BIOMEDICAL SIGNALS ". At that point there was a feeling of satisfaction of being able to do something but at the same time , there was the WTF expression on what was that . It sounded totally unrelated to what i have been studying.

No8) Only when around 5.45 did my supervisor came into the class and told me what i was to do exactly and again the things he told me were almost out of the vocabulary of what i have learn. Strange point is why i was given an electronics based project when i choose my specializaion as Interactive media.

No9) Probably i didnt had any lunch.

No10) Stops at No9 but tought having 10 reasons would sound nicer !

Right during my exams with a batch of my ite classmates . One of them was going back to her home overseas , so we decided to call her out for lunch at... Carls Jr!

Because of the guy in red , we actually went to this place called the cookies museum at Explanade located right at the main entrance , first shop to the right. It should be quite visible cause the decor of the place is wonderful . Based on the Old Times of the upper class in British, as you can tell from the name of the shop , it sells cookies , but not only that, they do have drinks such as tea and coffee. They arent cheap and cheapest tea costs 8 bucks over there. The best thing about it is the type of favor they are able to produce with cookies. Nasi Lemak, Prawn Noodles, Laksa, my favourite was the honeydew with chocolate cookies. Cookies wise well prices ranges from 35 to 45.

Right lastly is the outing right after my last exam , a few of us from class E1 to E3 went to marina square for dinner , this time at "the changing appetite". The grilled chicken i had together with its side dishes really blended well . The best thing from there was the mudpie, but a waste we were too full to even try their dessert.

Right its 2 am and probably will be the last blogging post till my exams are over. (No more food pics!) Anyway I just came back from a really super great friend of mine 21st bday celebration. To be honest he is actually my best and longest knowing bud.Known him since like primary school till now, entered even the same secondary school and now still living in the same area.
We never had any quarrels and i mean literally none even though i known him for over 10 years cause he really is a nice guy.O not to forget he has a twin brother so its actually 2 bdays!

The celebration was held at Singapore Yacht's Club , where the restaurant was located on the 2nd floor. The buffet was great! together with the scene of the setting sun to the brightest star i even seen. But the best was the dessert ! , chocolate fondue with a choice of marshmallows or fruits , hot bread pudding with vanilla sauce, lime tart, blackforest cake , fruits and choice of small sizes cakes where there was creamy coffee cake , cinamon carrot cake, chocolate cake and others.

Sadly in order to enter ,for the food, you need to be a member. In other words you need a member to bring you inside.

We had a game of monopoly at his house after that with them and their girlfriends , and i WON lol. To think there was tactics in playing monopoly and i learnt it all from his twin brother aka king of monopoly block 107!( where i live was block 106 =p)

Hmm thought of posting some of the project that i have been doing on , cause i'm really glad it looks better than the original website. Maybe you all can comment on it cause if its possible cause i might want to try to sell my template to the company . Cool huh ? Right , Just finish with projects so i suppose i have time to post those pics that deserve to be on the net ! Here they are ! This time is located at Vivocity , called "ShinKushiya". Its a Japanese style restaurant that specializes in charcoal grilled food, They use this special kind of charcol called bincho to grill their food. The special thing is burns without producing exessive smoke and yet give a distinct taste.I didnt get to try any grilled food that day cause i was like having a sore throat but the dishes that you'll see later will look as appealing as the grilled sotong my family ate. The seafood was really fresh together with the fish and tempura udon set i got. Not forgeting my favourite! ice creams , well again parfiats , but tis time the ice cream here tasted more original compare to the other one at Mr.Curry's . The only problem is , the proportion is smaller!
Ambience wise , well its really trying to replicate the traditional Japanese homelike walls , but instead they use curtains to help partition people who might want privacy. No more typical aunties who like to look around and say , hey what is the food on the table at there!

Yes finally got some new pics of FOOD! Today's menu was "Mr.curry" . I am sure many didn't hear it cause it's a new restaurant that just open 2 days ago and from the name of the restaurant , guess many of you all know what they have on menu, lots and lots of CURRY.

Ill keep this "short" cause i have a lot of food places to recommend and i kinda forget them easily.
If you love Japanese curry, you'll probably should head to the new shopping mall , "Central", 3rd floor at the main building.

The good thing about it they have four kinds of curry.
Original,Sweet, Creamy and black, ha yes black curry.

Right, Ill let the pictures do the talking, especially the dessert!

Actually to add on, that shopping mall have lots of restaurants and i think it would be a good choice to head down there if you cant decide on what food to get.
(o i'm using my bro's hp so quality doesn't seem good as the other pics in my blog)

Right the last 2 pics, first up is the green tea favor ice cream topped with strawberry and japanese rice balls and red bean fillings . In the middle there's soft ice cream and at the bottom corn flakes !

To end it,Bana choc parfiat!! ,choc favored ice cream, topped with pocky stick, slices of bana , strawberry.In the middle soft ice cream and at the bottom , those rainbow coloured O shape cereals .

Ha earlier on was helping out with my friend at a community event, there was some delays so we actually went all the way from my home area all the way to SELAGI rd for some TAO HUI!
He actually took an extra estimated time of 15 mins to get there -.-, obviously not sure of the direction , me and another friend had to direct him.
This place is located at besides a small road at a shop that is very famous for its silky taste beancurd.

Well that is not the place i want to recommend actually cause most of you all would know that place, the shop that i want to mention is called "le cafe confectionery and pastry" located about 5 shops away.
Although i frequently visit that area , i hardly see that stall open late at night, so perhaps they close quite early.

Well they are like famous for their durian puffs at like 8 dollar for 8 pieces and other pastries .I'm not too sure of the taste cause didn't have enough cash with me to get those tempting looking pastries, but from the way the shop appear with lots of newspaper cuttings , pictures with famous stars , I'm pretty sure it is definitely a place that serve good food for the sweet tooth lover's ! O they make wedding cakes too!

Right lastly there's this place called 'KUSHINBO'. There's a outlet at great world city, jurong mall(the one at boon lay) and at ngee ann city. They have Japanese food and more Japanese food , buffet style! My aunt went for the buffet and she recommend that place to us for having good food at a reasonable price.
She has good taste so i trust her a judgment la!

YES, Common Tests are finally over and finally a break for relaxation and fun. Actually rather time for "shopping spree". Ill be heading to anchor point shopping mall right opposite IKEA this weekend . You can get alot of branded stuff that cost much lower than where you get from others. Pedro is one of them and im planning to get a pair of slippers and shoe over there. Its about 30 plus each for the shoe and sandle. Quite a good buy isnt it?

The best thing about there is , there are alot of good food around that area ! There is a Tung Lok Restrauant,Jack's Place,Xin Wang Hong Kong Cafe, Mickey Mouse something (its for kids , but the pizza smells really cheesy!). then theres a japanese restaurant which is always crowded on weekends. There are alot others but its better if you all have a visit over there. O ya and theres "KOUFU" at the basement haha.

For those who cant bother to spend alot of money on food=p, theres this place i know as "ABC" market . Its about 5mins walk from anchor point , beside the old 'safra' building and a hdb block .
Theres this stall where i remember the charcol grilled chicken wings were 'juicy and tender' and then theres their hokkien mee , was one of the best i ever had. They use to open till late midnight, but now im not too sure, so if u nd a late night supper around that area, be sure to visit that place.

Bought some donuts yesterday! Got it from the new donut factory outlet at Tiong Bahru Plaza.

Currently there are two promotions , promotion A , I think it was 2/4 donuts with coffee and tea which you can enjoy it over at their outlet. Promotion B was 6 donuts with a box of "BonBons"!.
The "bonsbons" look so small and cute, i find it a guilt to eat it.

Theres this food company called "FoodHaven". I got to know this through my work place. I would recommend it for anyone who wants to find a catering service, cause it provides alot of varities of food and its nice !. Well 4/5 for my grade!
